I began my musical life at the age of 9 with private lessons on the trombone in elementary school. My love of music continued throughout elementary, Jr. High and Sr. High school by participating in anything musical or artistic including concert band, marching band, orchestra, chorus and drama club (musicals). It was during this time that I became involved with the music program at my church by singing in the choir and ultimately composing works for the church hand bell ensemble. One of these compositions (Toccata in C Minor) was performed at a hand bell convention in Bowling Green, KY by the Junior bell choir which I conducted. We received a surprising standing ovation from an audience that included other ringers and musical directors from many states.

After graduation from high school. I attended the Music School at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA for 2 years studying Bass Performance in the Jazz Conservatory. After 2 years, it became evident that a job was needed and I auditioned for the US Army band program and was accepted. Unfortunately, there were no immediate openings and I had to enlist in the Military Police and hope for a later opening which didn't occur before my enlistment ended. This led to a 20+ year public safety career.

Since retiring from public safety, I have turned my attention back to a career in music by playing as a member of and doing fill in work with a number of local bands in my area. Realizing that the music industry has changed significantly over the years, I auditioned and was accepted by the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media and have begun study as a Bass Performance and Music Production major. I have also began study in composition with LA film composer Stefano Tomaselli.

Other musical study has included harmonica lessons with Larry "The Iceman" Eisenberg, a nationally renowned player and teacher.
